• Used to fuel different Arts. A representation of a Mage’s focus and energy different from Spell slots.
  • Much faster deployment and regeneration.
  • Effort is calculated based on each magical tradition (minimum value of 1):
    • Full Mage (Arcanist, Elementalist, Necromancer) = 1 + Magic skill level + best of Int/Cha modifier.
    • Partial Mages (Arcanist, Elementalist, Necromancer) = Magic skill level + best of Int/Cha modifier.
    • Healers = Heal skill level + best of Int/Cha modifier.
    • Vowed = skill level of choice + any best Attribute modifier.
  • Each tradition has their own pool of effort to take from.
  • To use an Art, Effort is Committed. This can be for a day, a scene, or indefinitely.
    • For Effort committed for a day, it is refreshed after a night’s rest.
    • For Effort committed for a scene, it refreshes as soon as the scene is over.
    • For Effort committed indefinitely, the effect is persistent and active as long as the caster chooses to have the Effort committed. It takes an Instant Action to revoke the Effort, ending the effect.
      • Efforts committed indefinitely still hold their effect when sleeping or if you have time to prepare before unconsciousness. Sudden unconsciousness or death immediately ends the effect.
  • If there is no mention of Effort use, the default is one unit of Effort. Some Arts require more than one unit of Effort, but it will be outlined in the description of the Art.
